Thomangelos Michalakis, President of the Central Administrative Board of the Panhellenic Association of Opticians–Optometrists (Public Law Legal Entity), spoke to RV and the program “Real Blonde” hosted by Natasa Ragiou, on the occasion of an important initiative for the residents of Chalki this Sunday.
“October – Vision Month” is part of the global Awareness Month campaign, dedicated to raising public awareness about vision protection, the prevention of eye diseases, and support for people facing vision problems.
Within the framework of this initiative, a team of Opticians – Optometrists, members of the Panhellenic Association of Opticians – Optometrists (PSOO – Public Law Legal Entity), in collaboration with volunteer physicians – ophthalmologists, members of the Medical Association of Rhodes, and with the kind support of the Municipality of Chalki, will carry out a voluntary optometric and ophthalmological care action on the island of Chalki this coming Sunday.
The initiative is addressed to permanent residents of Chalki who have real vision care needs and includes:
- Optometric vision screening
- Ophthalmological evaluation by specialized ophthalmologists
- Prescription and free provision of eyeglasses where deemed necessary. The examinations will take place at the Municipal Medical Center of Chalki.
